Import Inventory
ServiceVisit lets you load your inventory from a spreadsheet instead of typing it in. You would use it when you first set up inventory, or when you have many items or quantities to change at once.
On the Import / Export page you can import the catalog by pasting CSV text with a header row. You choose a mode, Add, Update or Replace, and you can preview the result before confirming. The preview shows how many rows would be created, updated, skipped or deactivated, and lists any row errors. Replace deactivates items that are missing from the file, and nothing is deleted.
You can also import stock by location. The locations must already exist, each quantity in the file is the target on-hand balance, and every difference is posted as an Adjust movement. Items and locations not in the file are untouched. Importing stock also needs the adjust action.
