Create an Estimate

Creating an estimate lets you put a quote in front of a customer before the work starts. An estimate is written for a specific job, customer and Property, and it holds the line items you are proposing. ServiceVisit works out the subtotal, discount, tax and total from those lines, and assigns an estimate number for you if you do not provide one.

Estimates are created from within an existing Job; the Estimates page itself does not start a new one. A new estimate always starts as a draft. Nothing reaches the customer at this point, so you can take your time getting the lines right.

From a draft, the next steps are to adjust it if needed and then send it to the customer. Once the customer has approved it, the estimate can be converted into work orders so the quoted work gets scheduled.
