Onboarding Wizard - Optional Steps, Skipping and Finishing Setup
Besides the three required steps, the onboarding wizard offers three optional ones: Branding, Team Members and Set Up Online Payments. None of them holds up finishing setup. This guide explains each, how to skip the ones that can be skipped, how to come back later, and how to finish.
Before you start
You need permission to manage settings to use the wizard. Inviting team members also creates user accounts, so invite only people who should have access to the business. Decide which roles each person needs before you start: the wizard offers Field Technician, Provider Administrator and Viewer.
Steps
Open the checklist with Resume setup in the top bar.
Branding
- On the Branding card, choose Configure. It opens the Branding Settings page, where you add your logo and brand colors and customize email templates.
- The card turns green once a logo, color or customer-facing name has been saved there. Review then opens the same page.
Team Members (page title "Invite Team Members")
- Choose Invite on the Team Members card.
- For each person enter First Name, Last Name and Email Address; all three are required. Tick one or more Roles; Field Technician is ticked to start. Job Title is optional.
- Choose Add Another Team Member for more people, or the trash icon on a card to remove one.
- Choose Send Invitations →. Each person receives an email with a link to create their account. The card turns green when at least one invitation is sent. Review then opens your users list.
- To leave without inviting anyone, choose Skip for Now.
Set Up Online Payments
- Choose Set up now. It opens the payment setup page, where you connect a payment account so customers can pay you online. The payment account guide covers it.
- The card turns green once the connection is ready. This step never blocks finishing setup.
Skipping and returning
- Only Branding and Team Members have a Skip button, shown until the step is finished. Skipping marks the step done without saving anything and shows "Branding step skipped." or "Team Members step skipped."
- A skipped step can still be done later. Choose Configure or Invite, or use the Settings area in the main menu: Company Profile, Branding and Locations are listed there.
Finishing setup
- When Service Areas, Business Hours and Sales Tax are finished, choose Complete Setup.
- You are taken to Home with the message "Onboarding complete! Welcome to ServiceVisit." The top bar disappears.
Tips
- Completing setup is a deliberate click. Finishing the required steps does not do it for you, so the Resume setup bar stays until you choose Complete Setup.
- After completion the checklist page still opens and shows You're All Set! with Go to Dashboard.
- Optional steps you leave open do not affect the percentage.
If something goes wrong
- Until the required steps are done, Complete Setup is greyed out with the tip "Complete all required steps to enable this". The page lists Service Areas, Business Hours and Sales Tax as what is missing. If you still see "Please complete all required steps before finishing setup.", open the checklist and check which card has no green check.
- "Failed to skip step. Only optional steps can be skipped." appears if a skip is refused.
- "Failed to send invitations. Please check the email addresses and try again." means no invitation went out, so the step stays open. "Please add at least one team member to invite, or click 'Skip for Now' to continue." means every row was empty.
