Set Up Sales Tax
Setting up tax is where a provider tells ServiceVisit how to apply their own tax rules. Under Settings, the Tax Rates card covers the tax mode, tax zones, jurisdiction rates and line-item taxability rules. States You Collect In records the states where you collect sales tax or have determined that you do not.
Tax Registrations keeps the permits and filing frequencies issued by each tax authority, and Return Deduction Lines maps non-taxable line types to the deduction lines used on your sales-tax returns. Tax exemptions for individual customers are also managed with this capability.
These settings are the choices you make; ServiceVisit applies them to estimates and invoices but does not decide your tax position for you. View-only access to these settings is separate.
